Coco Gauff s’est qualifiée pour la finale de Cincinnati, après avoir reconnu lors de sa conférence de presse d’avant-tournoi qu’elle était déterminée à mettre fin à sa disette de titres avant la fin de la saison.
La joueuse américaine, tête de série n°4, avait bénéficié d’une exemption au premier tour avant de battre Liudmila Samsonova, Ann Li, Marie Bouzkova, Marta Kostyuk et Sara Bejlek pour atteindre la finale.

Gauff va désormais affronter Jessica Pegula avec, en ligne de mire, un premier trophée depuis son sacre à Wuhan en octobre 2025.
À Cincinnati, Gauff voulait enfin franchir la dernière marche
En début d’année, Gauff a terminé finaliste à Miami et à Rome. Elle a également atteint les demi-finales à trois reprises, à Dubaï, Wimbledon et Toronto.
“I feel like I’m getting closer and closer to where I want to end up as a player,” déclarait il y a une semaine la championne, titrée à dix reprises sur le circuit WTA.
“Obviously, like you said, in Wimbledon and in Toronto, I had some good results and, you know, I think just trying to compete to be able to finish with a trophy in my hand is something that I am hoping to get before the season’s over.
“I’ve gotten a lot of semis, a couple finals, a lot of quarterfinals, so just trying to get to that final step.”
Gauff vise un deuxième titre à Cincinnati face à Pegula
Gauff tentera de remporter dimanche son deuxième titre à Cincinnati, après avoir dominé Karolina Muchova en finale en 2023.
Fait notable, la dernière fois que la joueuse de 22 ans a remporté un tournoi, Pegula se trouvait déjà de l’autre côté du filet : la n°4 mondiale avait alors battu sa compatriote américaine en finale à Wuhan, en 2025.
« [Winning the title] would be great, because I’ve had a couple of semi[finals] and finals this year, » a déclaré Gauff après avoir décroché son billet pour une finale face à Pegula.
