L’ancien entraîneur de Novak Djokovic, Goran Ivanisevic, s’est confié sur son mariage, sa famille et ses enfants dans une nouvelle interview accordée avec son épouse Nives.
L’ancien vainqueur de Wimbledon a récemment lancé son premier stage international destiné aux jeunes joueurs de tennis. À cette occasion, lui et Nives ont accordé un long entretien au cours duquel ils ont évoqué leur relation et leur mariage.
Goran Ivanisevic a d’abord raconté comment il avait rencontré son épouse, il y a environ dix ans.
“Ten years ago, our friend Ivan Vukusic introduced us. They worked together at the radio. I went to visit him and brought him some snacks and sandwiches because I heard someone was hungry. When I saw Nives, I just stared. I was like a calf. And then, little by little…” Ivanisevic a confié à Gloria.
Nives a ensuite évoqué certains aspects de la personnalité de son mari que le public ne connaît peut-être pas.
“His dedication to everything he does, in this case the camp and the children, makes me fall in love with him all over again. Goran is also very funny and has a huge talent for public speaking. My soul sings when he does something without any preparation,” a-t-elle expliqué.
Elle a également mentionné un récent discours prononcé par Ivanisevic après sa nomination comme ambassadeur des Jeux sportifs de la jeunesse.
“He had a great and funny speech recently when he became an ambassador for the Youth Sports Games. It is a nice and big recognition. He is charming and has a talent for comedy. At home, 90 percent of the time we are dying from laughter.”
Nives a aussi expliqué ce qu’elle considère comme essentiel dans leur relation.
“Honesty, trust. That we can rely on each other. That we can complain to each other when things are difficult. That you have someone who listens to you. People today don’t listen to each other. When you have such a person, it is easier. Especially with this kind of job where there is a lot of travelling.”
Ivanisevic se confie sur ses enfants
Nives a ensuite décrit Goran Ivanisevic dans son rôle de père.
“He is the biggest support to his children. He is able to come down to little Oliver’s level. When there needs to be a serious conversation, he is there. As a father, he has matured a lot and approaches every child differently, depending on their personality,” a-t-elle déclaré.
Ivanisevic a ensuite expliqué ce qu’il essayait d’apporter à ses enfants.
“I try to be present, to give them my time, love, attention and help them,” a-t-il confié.
Le Croate a reconnu qu’il lui arrivait parfois de hausser le ton, tout en plaisantant sur le fait que cela faisait partie de la personnalité des Dalmates.
“Even if I shout, it is more so they can hear me. You know what Dalmatians are like. Oli is still small. With him, I’m a teddy bear. I’m not allowed to say the wrong word or raise my voice. He is used to me being his teddy bear from the shop.”
Ivanisevic a ensuite évoqué ses enfants plus âgés, Emanuel et Amber.
“Emanuel and Amber are already grown up. I always tried to spend as much time with them as possible, to dedicate myself to them and give them as much freedom as possible.”
Il s’est également souvenu de la période durant laquelle il passait davantage de temps avec Amber, alors passionnée d’équitation.
“At one point, I spent more time with Amber. She was involved in that beautiful sport with horses. Together we cleaned kilos and kilos of horse manure and went to tournaments,” a raconté Ivanisevic.
L’ancien différend judiciaire avec Amber et son ex-femme
Ces déclarations constituent l’une des rares occasions récentes pour lesquelles Ivanisevic a évoqué publiquement Amber de manière positive.
L’ancien joueur de tennis avait auparavant été impliqué dans un différend judiciaire concernant sa fille et son ex-femme, Tatjana Dragovic.
Selon les informations rapportées à l’époque, Ivanisevic souhaitait revendiquer la moitié d’un appartement situé dans le centre-ville et appartenant à Amber. Il demandait également à ne plus avoir à verser de pension alimentaire.
À l’époque, Ivanisevic s’était exprimé publiquement sur cette affaire, affirmant qu’il cherchait simplement à récupérer de l’argent qu’il avait gagné avant et pendant son mariage.
“The moment I dared to ask for the money I earned before and during the marriage, which T.D. took contrary to all laws and agreements, I became a family abuser and a favorite of the courts,” avait déclaré Ivanisevic.
Il avait ensuite formulé une remarque sarcastique au sujet de son ex-femme.
“Now I’m just waiting for another lawsuit which should establish that T.D. won Wimbledon and two Olympic medals, and maybe another Grand Slam, but the court still needs to establish that.”
On ignore ce qu’il est advenu de l’appartement depuis, ainsi que l’évolution des relations entre Ivanisevic et les membres de son ancienne famille après ce différend.
Dans sa dernière interview, l’ancien champion a toutefois évoqué Amber sans la moindre critique et s’est remémoré les moments qu’ils avaient partagés lorsqu’elle pratiquait l’équitation.
