Obviously I had those chances and I couldn’t close it out. But I think there was a lot of good tennis, and that’s what allows me to take positive aspects out of it. Now we have to turn the page and focus on this week. We have another opportunity, another opportunity. I hope I can take a step forward and play good tennis. »
De Minaur a ensuite évoqué sa saison : « This sport is like that, isn’t it? I think everyone goes through it. There are good times and bad times. I was very lucky to have been able to enjoy so many years of great consistency, maintaining a very high level throughout the season. And this year is the first in which I have had to deal with some drops in performance. »
There are difficult moments. And probably, most of the time, those moments derive precisely from this: from the very high standards that I impose on myself. It’s about managing them, figuring out what I can do and what I can’t, what things will help me in the long run, and what might be a little bit harmful. And yes, as I grow and advance in my career, I begin to understand a few more things about myself. I hope I can put the right pieces of the puzzle together and get back to the kind of tennis I want to play. »
